Explore the Teen Scene at South River Library!

Welcome to the Teens' Page. The library has created a space in our renovated building just for teens to enjoy called the Teen Scene. It's a spot where friends and classmates can work on projects together and find materials specifically of interest to teens, who are welcomed to offer suggestions that will make the space reflect their identity.

Anime

Viz Anime: A free and interactive anime web destination. Viz Anime includes over 400 episodes from VIZ Media. Some of the feature animated series are Bleach, Naruto, and Inuyasha. Fans can interact with one other, share their love of anime and enjoy free streaming.

Homework Help and Test Preparation Resources

B.J. Pinchbeck’s: The one stop destination for all your homework needs.

Learning Express: Develop good study habits and prepare for big tests, improve your writing skills for college essays, and get tips on interview techniques.

Purdue University’s Online Writing Lab (OWL): For all things related to research papers.

Son of Citation Machine: Automatically create bibliographic citations to be used in research papers in the correct MLA, APA, or other needed format.

Snagajob: Landing your first job can be tricky. Read our job articles and job tips for teens to help you land your first job.

Volunteer Match: Find local opportunities for volunteering. Choose your preferred job category and search within a few miles of your zip code to find organizations seeking volunteers. A great way to fulfill community service hours to report on college applications. The experience could even lead to a paid job.

Music Mania

Freegal: Each week you are entitled to download 3 free music selections from Freegal, a subscription based service provided by the library.  You will need to login with your library card number and can search by genre, artist, or title.  Please note that while the music collection is extensive, only Sony or Sony affiliate production companies are available.

So Many Books, So Little Time

Teen Reads: Get the latest buzz on new releases, books made into movies, new ebooks, and books adults are reading that you'll want to read too!

Guys Read: A site founded by Jon Scieska, an author who knows boys. You may remember him from your younger days of reading his work, such as The Stinky Cheese Man, Other Fairly Stupid Tales, and the Time Warp Trio series. From Maximum Ride and beyond, this is a must for guys who want or have to read.

Youth Help

2NDFLOOR Youth Helpline: New Jersey's youth and young adults can call this organization to discuss any topic/problem encompassing the big and small problems of daily life.
